If you’re a Christian, then you’re probably asking yourself: “Why is the devil in the entertainment industry?” After all, the figure has been around since the beginning of time, and he shows no sign of slowing down. While some of the characters in this genre may seem unappealing, others are quite entertaining. Here’s a quick look at the broader definition of Satan.
The devil is everywhere in the entertainment industry, and the cynics will say that movies are no exception. Many Christians live and work in Hollywood, but they have probably watched many movies that have distorted morals. Whether the films were made by a Christian or not, they contain themes that promote excessive materialism and self-worship. Some even display a decidedly anti-God bias.
The answer may surprise you. While Hollywood is an excellent place to promote Christian ideas, we’ve been corrupted by its idolatry and lasciviousness. In reality, many of these movies slander Christ and God’s name and cause untold damage. Nevertheless, it’s not the devil’s fault alone, since the movie industry is a product of society.
Despite all the slew of movies and TV shows about Satan, these movies are often more entertaining. The devil’s influence in these films is often based on a particular concept and age. This is true of many of the movies about demons, including the wildly popular “The Secret Life of Puppets” and The Toxic Avenger Part III, as well as its sequel, The Last Temptation of Toxie.
